The Rocks Will Cry Out!

Praise God! Hosanna! Thank you, Jesus! All of these are expressions of thankfulness we hear when prayers are answered or things go our way. Usually you hear this when people have been desperate for an answer and suddenly the answer is manifested. Oh, what a feeling! For those who have ever experienced a deep need for intervention and you struggled to keep your faith while waiting for the Lord to open a door, when the answer to your prayers and pleas arrive, it seems like a heavy weigh lifted from your shoulders. Do you agree?

We should cherish each moment of answered prayer. It is at these points that we gain proven material of His faithfulness, which strengthens us to believe even more the next time. We must use these moments as a testimony to others about His goodness and faithfulness. In essence, it becomes our testimony.

In Luke 19, there is an account of a multitude following Jesus with excitement and shouting His praises. They had witnessed His miracles and it affected them so much that praise erupted from with them. Never before had they seen such marvelous acts. These were life-changing moments that were undeniable.

While approaching the Mount of Olives, the religious leaders were offended by the commotion and the focus on Jesus. Not only was the praise loud but it ascribed Jesus as the King. The religious leaders complained to Jesus and suggested He tell His followers to stop. As you might imagine, Jesus responded with a profound statement. He said, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out”. Wow! In other words, praise for who He really is must come forth. If the multitude following Him did not do it, it would come from another source. Think about that for a moment.

My question today is has Jesus been good to you? Have you had an encounter with Him yet? Have you allowed Him to be strong on your behalf? If so, you know how good, faithful and loving He is towards us. You also know that nothing compares to Him and the more you know Him, the more you want to know Him! Therefore, forget the notion that your Christian faith is only an internal faith. Join in the praise and shout:

Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!

Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!

If you do not, the rocks will cry out!
